Pai

Mae Hong Son, Thailand (2013)

Pai is located up in the northern part of Thailand close to Myanmar. It’s a town in the province of Mae Hong Soon. The bus from Chiang Mai took around 3 hours in a winding road. It’s probably one of those places that’s a very good sanctuary for artist and writers alike because the nature and weather is soothing. The environment is very creative, it has that Ubud, Bali vibe. Lot’s of coffee shop and cheap food and fruits. I love just sitting and relaxing by the Pai river. There are several interesting places to visit that is close to Pai, There was Chinese settlers in a town called Baan. Perhaps a very distinct ethinic minority from Myanmar, the Kayan refugee also known as the long necks. The Elephant Jungle Sanctuar that lets you pet the baby elephants and also an elephant ride thru the rivers. I could spend a good month here just relaxing and enjoying nature and clean air.
