Phuket Island lies in the south western part of Thailand. I flew from Hong Kong to Bangkok and spent few days in the capital. Then took the sleeper bus to Phuket which took around 13 hrs. The coastal Phuket is normal or typical beach in Philippine standard but definely a tourist trap. What was interesting was the outlying islands, like Kho Phiphi and bond islands. They have monkeys by the beach. It’s too crowded for my taste. Interestingly enough they have a public demo of kickboxing in the nearby square. It eminded me of the time when I was learning Filipino Martial Arts, but these kids are tough fighters. Over all it’s nice place to visit a bit touristy but very good night life area.
