Elephant Nature Park in Chiang mai, this was 2013, I am pretty sure there was ethical issues surrounding the treatment of Elephants that’s why many things has change since. I personally have concern but I also knew less, I was an ignorant tourist. Although I have not seen them being mistreated but seeing baby elephant chained, it made me realized I should never do that again. And indeed I did not, it was the first and last time. In Cambodia at Angkor Wat they have the same elephant tour, the least I can do is refuse to take part in that again. I believe they converted this place as Jungle Sanctuary, tourist can still go there but mostly to pet them by the river but not ride them anymore. In Sri Lanka I attended Kandy festival held annually to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha, Elephants are revered.
